This is the Detailed Method to Register Internet Download Manager Manually [totally free]

The Method is 4 Parts in which Part 3 and 4 are Important.

Part 1:

Note:

If you have IDM Installed then use this method to Remove it Completely from your PC
If You don't have IDM installed then skip to "Part 2"

METHOD: ONE

Step 1: Uninstall IDM from Control Panel

Step 2: Open up "Run" [click windows key+R]

Step 3: Type "regedit" and hit enter

Step 4: Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Download Manager

Step 5: Delete "Download Manager" Folder

Part 2:

Step 1: Go to google and Download Latest version of IDM

Step 2: Install IDM Setup

Open IDM Setup

Click Next

Next Again

Click Finish

Click Close (after reading it)

Step 3: Open IDM

Navigate To Registration Option and open it

A registration Forum will Appear

Fill out The Forum And Give One of the Following Serial Numbers and Click OK

Part 3: EDIT HOSTS FILE

This Part is the Most Important Part So Read and Follow Carefully
In this part We will edit the Hosts file of windows to disable the connection between IDM and Registration server of IDM
There are 2 Methods of Editing Hosts File

METHOD 1:

Step1) Go to: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

Note: If you are Using Windows XP Skip to Step 4 of this Method

Step 2) Right Click on Hosts File Go to Properties

Step 3) Go to Users under Security Tab and Click Edit

Click on Users

Click on Allow Box In front of Full control Option and Click Apply

Click Yes

Click OK

Click OK again

Step 4) Open Hosts File with Notepad_[This pc/local disk©/windows/system32/drivers/etc]

Step 5) Copy and Paste These Codes into Hosts File

Step 6) Under File Click on Save

Note: Check again by opening Hosts file with Notepad to Confirm if The codes are saved

After addition of codes the size of Hosts file will also increased (from 1 Kb to 2 Kb) this is another way to Confirm that

METHOD 2 (Windows 7, 8, 8.1):

This is another fast, Short and easy Method to edit Hosts file

Step 1) Enable the Show Hidden files Option of Windows

Step 2) Go to Start in Windows 7 or Search in Windows 8, 8.1

and type notepad then Right Click on Notepad and Click on

Run as Administrator

Step 2) Under File Click Open

Step 3) Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc then click All files

Step 4) Select Hosts File and Click Open

· Step 5) Copy and Paste These Codes into Hosts File

· Step 6)Then save Hosts File

Part 4:

Note: People Often Make Mistakes in this Part So Read and Follow Carefully

Step 1) After editing Hosts File Restart the Windows

Step 2) After Restarting the Windows A Famous ERROR will apear
(FAKE SERIAL ERROR) Just Click OK

Note: Dont touch the Hosts File at this Point

Step 3) After clicking OK the Registration Forum will appear AGAIN

Just Fill it out once AGAIN and Click OK

Step 4) After clicking OK a window will appear asking to Repair IDM

We dont want to repair it Most of people make Mistake

in this step so JUST CLICK CANCEL

Step 5) Click OK

Note: this window is clearly saying that IDM cannot Connect to IDM Server :D

Even if you try to open IDM site it won't this is why we edited the Hosts file

NOW YOU HAVE Fully REGISTERED LATEST IDM AT THIS POINT FOR LIFE TIME

HOW TO UPDATE IDM?

As the Connection Between Software and Server is disconnected
It won't Update Automatically.
